Pain in the Morning

Feeling bodily stiffness when you first wake up in the morning is incredibly common. Here are some stretches that will help get your body moving properly. Our hope is that these will set up up for success by helping you to get ready physically for the day

For our mamas that are already faithful with the guide, you can feel free add on top of the current E&E stretches and turn it into your morning routine. It is so important for ALL of us to have our bodies ready to go for a busy day with our beloved children.

✨MORNING MOBILITY✨

The quality of sleep during your pregnancy and postpartum months is often not great. Starting your day with MOBILITY can really help you to feel fresh even if your night wasn’t amazing. If your body does not get the time to physically recover overnight, it can really leave you look like an 90 year old getting out of bed. While this certainly doesn't substitute for 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep, it can help.

Benefits of doing your stretches in the morning:

  1. Get your stretches done and out of the way (because lord knows your schedule is dictated by those littles sunrise to sundown)

  2. Preps your body for movements that you HAVE to do (up/down from floor, baby-wearing, baby/toddler carrying)

  3. Wakes up your nervous system for how we want it to function (your thoracic spine houses your nervous system that helps keep you a calm-cool-collected mama).

E&E has a flexibility section in the guide. Everyone doing the guides has probably been guilty of “diving” right into the workout due to a lack of time. While this may be necessary at times, it is a mistake to always skip mobility work. If your mobility is better, the quality of the workout is better because you are opening up your body for its full range of movement. Movement your body through further degrees of movement making for a better sweat and really just better results overall! Doing your E&E flexibility section in the morning is great if you have to rush into and out of your workout.
